Stage Stop Starts

The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race barks out of the town square in Jackson, WY today and makes a number of Wyoming stops over the next week. Several communities are hosting various small festivals and welcome ceremonies for the mushers and dogs.

There are 21 teams competing in the largest sled dog race in the Lower 48 states. Four-time Iditarod winner Lancy Mackey is among a host of big- name talent on the scene. Newton Marshall pilots the Jamaican team – the only such outfit in existence from Jamaica (sponsored by Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville).
